The exhibition is organized into five sections - " A Vacation in the Garden" "Light and Shadows on the Move" "Setting Sail from Misty Oceans" "A Nostalgic Account of Pastoral Scenes" and "Nurtured in the New Continent" , featuring 133 masterpiece oil paintings exploring the relationship between humans and nature. Highlights include an affectionate portrait by Impressionist master Renoir of his son, pastoral scenes by Théodore Rousseau, a founder of the Barbizon School, and picturesque coastal landscapes by Eugène Boudin, who bridged the Barbizon and Impressionist movements and taught Monet. These works present a kaleidoscopic world that helps visitors better understand the evolution of European painting.
Centered on the theme "Eternal Scenery", the exhibition guides visitors to observe how European artists' perceptions and expressions of relationships between rural and urban, fields and oceans evolved after the Industrial Revolution, encouraging a reexamination of human-nature relationships while offering insights into visual communication techniques in oil painting composition and detail.
Among the featured works, "Buste de garçon en rouge" was painted by Pierre-Auguste Renoir in 1905, depicting his son with soft brushstrokes and gentle colors that perfectly exemplify his mastery of portraiture. "Paysage de campagne avec des arbres" by Théodore Rousseau, created in 1830, demonstrates bold, strong, and precise brushwork. Eugène Boudin, known as the father of Impressionism and Monet's teacher, was born into a sailor's family and devoted himself to painting seascapes. His 1848 work "Vapeur sortant du port d'honfleur" is on display. As the great French thinker Baudelaire observed: "Looking at Boudin's works, one can guess the season, time of day, and wind direction."
